Rag Dolls

I got the idea of making a rag doll for myself....to cuddle, and dress-up, and sleep with.

I had made one before, but it wasn't that great. It had skinny little legs, a huge oval head, and a big long neck....which taught me not to make a neck at all... It had big button eyes and a smile sewn on. It took me a long while to get my confidence back to try another one.
Mama helped me on this next one. It took me only one evening to make it. I was so excited I couldn't go to bed til I had finished it.
This was the final seam!

I dressed it in the cutest outfit I could find in my doll wardrobe.

I am very creative, so I am the mother, the new doll is Chelsea (my baby) and is 11 mos old...just learning to walk. She has her own little stuffed dog, which I pretend is real. She has her own blanket. I made her dog a crate out of a box. I take her to supper and put her under the table, and pretend it's a restaurant. I know it sounds weird, but I can't hold her and get her dirty. I didn't give Chelsea a face, because my mom said she looked cuter without.
Marissa's birthday was coming up, and she wanted one bad! (we celebrated her b-day 1 month early, so it's not so close to Christmas.) SO, I made her one for her birthday. She pretended that she was a mom adopting a baby. She had 2 stuffed dogs for the doll, and she wanted it to be a boy. I had to hurry because she wanted to take it along to the restaurant where Mama and Papa were taking her for her birthday. THis is how it looked as I was making it. I personalized it special for her.

I plan to make another one and try to sell it on ETSY. If anyone wants one, I am selling them for $16.00....til my stuffing runs out! :) I can personalize each doll, and I will dress it for the buyer as well. But if you would like to dress it yourself, that is fine too. They are so nice, even my mom wants one! SHe says they are so cute. THey remind her of the mannequins that we saw in one of the children's stores at the mall....Old Navy?

That is so cool! Really it is. Kind of reminds me of some of the Amish dolls I have, but they are a lot smaller.
I would love to order one for my Naomi. She is 3 and she looks a lot like Hanna. =]
Ask your mom how much it would be with shipping and she can email me. =]
I just showed my girls the photos and Naomi had the best reaction, so I would like one for Christmas.
Thanks!

I think that you should make some with Alabama or Auburn shirts. I love you!
